Kathy Acker

Me recomendaron leer a Kathy Acker, particularmente su libro Don Quixote que, por supuesto, no se consigue. Tengo varios artículos que me pasaron en pdf. Me la recomendaron porque me dijeron que una se tiene que agarrar a putazos con sus más grandes influencias. No eludirlas, sino ponerse al tú por tú. Resulta que yo no sabía que tenía la influencia de Kathy Acker. Vaya, no sabía que alguien había entrado a la literatura con algunas preocupaciones muy similares a las mías.

Estoy leyendo un artículo que se llama "Writing, Identity, and Copyright in the Net Age". Dice cosas muy interesantes. Una frase me saltó tal vez por los tiempos que estamos viviendo o tal vez porque según yo algún día voy a relacionar todo lo que hago con la historia. No sé para qué me va a servir, pero algún día la voy a usar:

We can throw away history, our history, as we seem to be trying to

throw away education for all but the rich. But if we do throw history

away, if we do not accept historical thinking, what kind of civilization are

we negotiating? What kind of culture? If we throw history away, we are

depriving ourselves of potentialities, potentialities for actions. Models

and paradigms for actions. Potentiality is kin, and I am talking politically,

kin to the imagination.
